Fight Club (1999) by Chuck Palahniuk is a novel that will live on forever. Below is a little blurb I wrote about the space monkeys from the book.

“Everybody in this world makes their own decisions to plan out the life they will live. However, sometimes other people can lead a person to do the unexpected, and they may never be the same. Fight Club (1999) by Chuck Palahniuk introduces a whole new meaning to a dystopian society. More often than not, people’s opinions on what is right and wrong differ. On the other hand, in Fight Club (1999) people are willing to commit any level of heinousness in order to relieve their stress and feel alive. Most people are not able to play a role without someone or something leading them, and Tyler Durden is a master manipulator.

When a person hears the term “space monkeys” they most likely initially think of monkeys in space. On the contrary, in Fight Club (1999) the Narrator refers to space monkeys as the minions of Project Mayhem that obey all of Tyler’s orders. Tyler is the ultimate ruler of these mindless, emotionless, and confused men. All of the fight clubs allow men to separate themselves from their ordinary lives in order to receive some freedom. For example, the men remove their wedding rings so they aren’t seen as a man with a family. The men are all equal under Tyler’s reign.”

Fight Club (1999) was such a successful novel that Chuck has decided to write a sequel!
