The Pink cactus dahlia (Dahlia) is a charming variety that grows only about 40 centimetres tall. Its erect, branched stems that are covered with feathery pinnatisect leaves consisting of oval dentate leaflets, are adorned with huge double flowers all summer long and at the beginning of autumn. Cactus dahlias owe their name to those very flowers that consist of elongated and rolled petals that resemble cactus spikes. Presented variety produces flowers in a wonderful, bright, pink colour.

Tufts of the miniature dahlias can be used on edgings, as a background for a lower flower bed and filling larger planters. Put dahlia rootstock into weeded, thoroughly watered soil in spring. The soil must not be to heavy. It should also contain a sufficient amount of humus. Dahlias need a fertile and constantly moist during their growth phase and the flowering period. In October, when the plants lose their fairy-tale flowers, dig out the rootstock, dry it slightly, and store in a cool basement over the winter. This would allow you to enjoy abundant flowering of dahlias for years to come.
