Anything’s better than the original, but what’s up with that clock??

That is seriously cool! A shame it’s not the classic logo though, but that’s just nit-picking.

I just picked up this Anniversary Edition on vinyl and besides a hype sticker on the shrinkwrap, it‘s identical to the 2014 version. Same catalog number, barcode and matrix number. In case someone was wondering.

Hopefully Beast Over Hammersmith and Reading’82 gets a vinyl reissue soon.

Don't understand why Steve Harris just doesn't use Ade's remaster of the album and build a box set around it with a disc of b-sides and Beast Over Hammersmith. Include all the artwork, a nice booklet.

Hell, they could do boxes for all their 80's albums with the wealth of material they have.

I have this notion they have to make the discography easily purchasable to 14 year olds with paper rounds.

well yeah, just do a single cd version for them a deluxe box for everyone else, both editions would sell very well

I was a late comer to the Maiden party, but am a fan now, and The Number of the Beast is definitely one of their best records, IMO. I'd probably put it just below Somewhere in Time and Powerslave from the classic era, and from the reunion era, I think A Matter of Life and Death is particularly outstanding.

Part of me wishes they would, because there are few things I enjoy more than 1980s Maiden. Part of me wishes they wouldn't because I would just have to buy them all.

Steve Harris has his reasons and he gets his way, but deleting Gangland strikes me as a weird move at this point, 40 years later. The album was what it was.

exactly, squeeze more money out of people. They couldve done just BOH by itself but they could only charge $35 and not $60 then

Exactly! Add ‘Total Eclipse’ as a bonus track like the ‘98 cd remaster.

Also both ‘Gangland’ and ‘Total Eclipse’ appeared on the first Japan vinyl - so it’s not as if it there isn’t a precedent.

I’ve no interest at all in vinyl, but that’s a very strange move, not happy at all with them doing that :(.

Is Sean Magee handling the vinyl? I need an excuse to not buy this and that would be one. I bought the Japanese original TNOTB LP so I already have a better running order than what this new version will be. I agree with Harris that Total Eclipse is a better song than Gangland but it's not like there's not room for both.
