Robinson Crusoe Island has released new packages for Fijian residents to celebrate World Tourism Day.

The resort took part in festivities hosted by Fiji’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism on Tuesday in Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva, along with other members of the tourism community.

The celebration was part of a United Nations World Trade Organisation’s global initiative designed to raise awareness about the benefits of tourism for all citizens.

Robinson Crusoe Island representatives explained they are offering heavily discounted day trip and weekend accommodation rates.

This was so that more Fijians are able to experience one of the country’s most beautiful and exciting recreational islands.

“Whether it is family travel, romantic travel or group retreats, Robinson Crusoe Island has activities and accommodation to suit everyone,” said marketing Director, Hannah Raffe.

“The resort is already really well known for its fire and knife dancing show, but we also have really unique tour activities such as mud crab catching and cooking lessons.

“We also have very traditional Bures for our accommodation so you feel like you are on an authentic Fijian island.”

The new Fijian resident’s rates include day trip options from $69 per adult, which features a sumptuous lunch, snorkelling, kayaking and a full range of cultural island activities.

For an additional $44 guests can stay overnight in dorm accommodation, or $99 for private Bure facilities.

All rates include return boat transfers and meals, and the island can cater for group sizes of up to 120 people.

Resort location

Robinson Crusoe Island is located nearby to the Coral Coast’s famous Natadola beach, which is approximately 2 hours by car from Suva or 45 minutes from Nadi.

To get to the island from the mainland is only a 30 minute calm water cruise down the Tuva river.
