Español: El salto Ángel (en Pemón: "Kerepakupai-merú") es la catarata más alta del mundo, con una altura de 979 m (807 m de caída ininterrumpida), generada por la caída del río Churún desde el Auyantepuy. Está ubicado en el Parque Nacional Canaima, en el estado Bolívar, Venezuela, el cual fue instaurado el 12 de junio de 1962 y declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1994. El parque nacional se extiende sobre 30.000 km² (más grande que Bélgica), hasta la frontera con Guyana y Brasil, y por su tamaño es considerado el más grande del mundo.
Hay otra foto que tomé con mi celular: twitpic.com/rxiq La foto está tomada desde una avioneta con un piloto más o menos loco. Fue muy difícil de tomar una foto que valiera la pena. Es tal la emoción de estar allí que es mejor olvidarse de fotos y de cosas así. Yo creo que para captar está imagen la suerte estaba de mi lado. |
