This Isuzu Trooper got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1987 Isuzu Trooper II is a three-door wagon powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. The truck was reportedly purchased by its previous owner from the estate of its original owner last year, and was recently acquired by the seller. Approximately 700 of its 54k indicated miles have since been added along with a new fuel filter, KYB shocks, and vacuum lines. This Trooper passed a California emissions test in April 2019 and is now offered at no reserve with an original owner’s manual, two keys, a repair manual, clean AutoCheck report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in white with black trim around the windows as well as on the lower rockers and quarter panels. Exterior equipment includes rectangular headlights along with a chrome grille surround, bumpers, and wheel well moldings. The seller notes corrosion in a chip near the driver’s door handle. The truck retains a California “sunset” license plate out back, and a front plate and mounting bracket are also included.

Stock 15” wheels are wrapped in Futura tires that show date codes from 2002 and should be replaced due to age, while the rear carrier features a matching wheel with a Bridgestone tire. The front end is equipped independent suspension and auto-locking hubs.

Tan fabric upholstery is joined by  darker carpets and plastics. The truck is not equipped with air conditioning, though a stock cassette stereo remains in place. The seller describes a tear on the side of the driver’s seat bottom as well as seam separation on the backrest.

A stock steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer and a six-digit odometer that shows just over 54k miles. The main cabin light and stereo backlight occasionally fail to illuminate according to the seller.

The carbureted 2.3-liter inline-four was factory-rated at 96 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and a two-speed transfer case. New KYB shocks, an evaporator vent valve, vacuum control valve set, and a fresh fuel filter were installed by the seller.

New spark plugs and wires were reportedly replaced by the seller and a leak in the fuel tank was recently repaired. The axle seals should be replaced and the front brakes require resurfacing and fresh pads according to a recent inspection.

No Reserve: 1987 Isuzu Trooper II 5-Speed

The AutoCheck report lists no accidents or other damage and shows history in California through its most recent entry in November 2018.
